Jean Crowe produced and directed over two decades of theatre productions, mostly musicals, while teaching school and raising three sons on her own. She opened her schools productions to include the community and found the partnership to be heavily rewarding,, not just for the students but for the community as well. Theatre is a way of creating equals among people with varied backgrounds and walks of life.
One of my (Kerri Leier) first memories is watching her final production-The Sound of Music.. Even though I was too young to remember all the details, I still remember the energy in the room and the way the cast and crew responded to her.
Jean’s spirit and love of theatre has been passed on to countless students, and to her children and grandchildren. I’m proud to say I’m part of her legacy and this company would be nowhere without her.
